MJ - well, Mrs MJ IS ALWAYS RIGHT

@ PP. On my return home today, what do I find? A parcel wedged under my doormat - that's what. And what is in this parcel? A T-shirt from your good self. Knowing you to be meticulous in your craftwork, I'm surprised you didn't have the forethought to have protected the contents of said package with some kind of impervious layering such as might protect it from the vagueries of British weather - pissin' it down like wot it 'as.
I'm afraid it is quite ruined. The colours have run and it almost looks like an amateur attempt at TIE-DYE! People will think I'm some kind of hippy! REALLY!
As if that wasn't enough, I note the crude attempt to pervert the intended message by dragging in a third party and by doing so imply I am an inferior. Have I upset you in some way?
So thanks (not) for destablising the domestic harmony chez MJ and inciting MrsMJ to run amok in public arenas sporting said T-shirt!
I can only take solice in that the offensive emblem is so small that it may easily be covered by a strategically placed scarf. (Perhaps BSB can whip-one-up?) Mmmm. Had you run out of thread?

Yesterday Mrs Wood Duck was on the pond as well. She stuck very close to Mr W D and quite right in my opinion as there were three Mandarin Ducks wanting to have their wicked way with her. The problem (if it is a problem?) is that Mrs Wood Duck looks just like Mrs Mandarin Duck (although she's slightly larger).
When they didn't get their way with her they started fighting with each other - these ducks are seriously viscious (they drive Tawny Owls out of their nests and take over the holes/nesting boxes) Great entertainment for adults but not suitable for under 18's although it did resemble Union Street (Plymouth) on a Friday night.

Guess what ? It is my beautiful little grand daughter's birthday too!!!! Born today at 01.10am , by (LSCS) Caesarian Section, weighing in at an acceptable 8lb 9oz. Her name is, Thea Alexander(but this might change) & she is an adorable, totally chilled out, little cutie ! She has her daddy's chin, mouth & nose with possibly my daughter's eyes. ???
I know this must be difficult to believe, but I am now officially a GRAN ! I am tickled pink! Over joyed ! with emotion!!
My daughter , being my daughter decided she'd do it the hard way & sample everything!!! First a wonderfully relaxing Birthing Pool, which I wish had been available when I gave birth & would highly recommend, followed by gas & air, (entonox), an epidural anaesthetic, then a spinal anaesthetic prior to her emergency Caesarian as Thea was lying in an occipito - posterior position, that is to say facing upwards making it very difficult to negotiate the pelvic canal. Thankfully both are recovering well, I've had no sleep for days but can't wait to go to see them again this afternoon!
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your kind thoughts & wishes!!!

A couple of poems on birth and rebirth.
(Sorry if the first one is a little sentimental, but Mrs PK and I had such a good day in the garden, yesterday).
Gardening
A windless day of warmth and early Spring,
The sun shines soft and gentle on our heads,
In garden clothes we look around the beds,
At Winter's end, we have new life to bring.
We tidy, trim and clear the matted ground,
We weed, we clip and prune a tangled bush,
Some fence is down; we both lean in to push,
Confusion's gone and order has been found.
We slide the tiny seed beneath the soil,
The rebirth of the world contained within,
And feel that with it, too, our hopes begin,
Their rebirth which so justifies the toil.
And as we tend our garden, spouse and lover,
We tend the garden of our life, each other.
Ode to the Joys of Grandparenting
A grandchild at last, Cubbybear !
To hold with much love and much care,
And when you are weary,
Just say, "Daughter, dearie,
Your baby needs you," (Well, it's fair).

You will love being a Granny - all the pleasure and none of the responsibility! I've enjoyed every minute of all four....Matthew, Julien and Eloise in France and young Theo here.
I hope like Theo - Thea is the proper name not a contraction. Kate and Chris were adimant (sic) that Theo was not a contraction of Theodore.
Maybe in a few years we can get Thea and Theo to hook up - now that would be fun!!

I've just returned from visiting my daughter & Thea.( I could easily sit & look at her & cuddle her all day). Hopefully, they will be discharged from hospital tomorrow & be home by late afternoon. My daughter is establishing breast feeding & I cannot believe that a young pediatrician has started putting pressure on my daughter to give Thea a formula feed already!!!!!! I really do despair!!!
BRIAN Thank you. Yes, she is gorgeous, such a cute little bundle but, I know of course, I am very biased.

A grandchild at last, Cubbybear !
To hold with much love and much care,
And when you are weary,
Just say, "Daughter, dearie,
Your baby needs you," (Well, it's fair).

Congrats to Cubby's daughter. I thought that the sleepless nights start AFTER the child's birth.

Maybe in a few years we can get Thea and Theo to hook up - now that would be fun!!

cubby you are undoubtedly now asleep, dreaming of wonderful days to come, pushing prams, changing nappies, cuddling something warm and vulnerable, fussing over what to put on dear little Thea Alexandra for an outing, warming bottles of formula..........
.........and glad that at the end of the day,you can hand her back to her Mother.
Oh the joys of Grannyhood
Bless little Thea Alexandra on this joyous day and every day to come
Warmest Congratulations

Congratulations to you, your daughter, her partner and of course, Thea Alexandra! My second daughter started off in the occipito-posterior position also, but fortunately for me she turned herself around in the nick of time!
Like blindy, I am jealous (or is it envious?) - my 2 daughters have yet to get around to progeny. Seems to be the way it goes these days! Anyway, enjoy these precious early days totally spoiling the babe!

I have posted a photo of cubby's new grand-daughter Thea
Preah. Thank You so much,( you were quick off the mark), your kindness REALLY IS very much appreciated !!
TO EVERYONE I have genuinely been extremely touched by all of your good wishes following the birth of Thea. You are amazingly special people & I'm sure Thea will treasure all your postings from the QCC. ( I know I do).
THANK YOU.

Just seen Thea on PP's web site. Gorgeous. Worth waiting for ten times as long - though I'm glad you didn't have to!

Safely back (but only just) from the snow covered mountains of Transylvania to find that Cubs is now a Gran. Congratulations too all concerned - please get a round of drinks and put it on my account.

Heading out to do stuff this morning, I tried to find out if the CAMEL was for the chop. The negative answer somehow failed to, erm, ring true.
I spent the day plotting her rescue…we’ll gather a gang (the Peter Kelly Gang?), pile in the Skoda- Peter Kelly will make a reliable get away driver, Bloggsie and FFyshie and any other stalwarts interested can help me with the abduction- we’ll wedge her in with the buffalo and peel out helter-skelter( with Lidell, she’s so inconspicuous! acting as lookout) to the snug.
We’ll hide her under the snooker table with the lamb, and then have a real knees up Mahgrebi welcome!! CAKES and a bonfire in Mrs. Matisse’s garden, with BSB looking regal with her leg propped up and the merry sound of popping corks, a taiko drum or two and we’ll throw her a bonza party.
Maybe Silly Auntie will write her a haiku…
Alas, after a f***ing hard slog of a day, including delayed metro service due to a suicide on the tracks, I was wearily trudging home
and it was obvious there was no camel in the lane.
Only her skin was hanging there over a railing, damp and empty.
Cubbie and I can sit and cry.
