Materials: White linen fabric, white cotton fabric, cotton wadding, machine embroidery threads, printed images, Dye-na-Flow (Jacquard) dye.
Techniques: Photography, drawing and manipulation of photos in Photoshop, fabric printing (Epson printer), free and designed computerized machine embroidery, fabric dyeing and painting.

Statement:
The idea of “And then you become real” is from a much loved book, “The Velveteen Rabbit”.
The Skin Horse and the Velveteen Rabbit discuss what it is to become real. “Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby”.
This piece is about me ‘becoming real’.
